Writer Barbara Brierley and her artist sister Kathleen Connaught (Kitty) were daughters of Benjamin (1854-1920) and Janet Brierley. Originally from England, they lived in Albany and on a farming property in the Frankland River area. Barbara wrote "Nyungars in the sun", a collection of Aboriginal legends compiled from Ethel Hassell's manuscript, and Kitty illustrated these legends with water colours and line drawings (10 June 1975).
